Adam is a physical scientist who has previously served as division chief for Climate Assessment and Services and program manager for the Regional Integrated Sciences and Assessments (RISA) at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).  RISA was internationally recognized for its role in helping decision makers to manage weather and climate risks.

Adam will describe the Adaptation chapter of the National Climate Assessment and the development of the executive order that requires all federal agencies to develop adaptation plans. He will reconcile these efforts with adaptation that’s happening on the ground through RISA. Lastly, he will discuss the US role in adaptation science and research through the IPCC.
